I am tired of DVD projections!!!
 Have you been going to revival theaters recently? Old movies theaters are now giving us DVD projections instead of 35mm prints! I just saw Rocky Horror Picture Show at a very old theater in southwestern Pa. This film deserves better than that!! Last year I saw Night Of The Living Dead at the Oaks Theater in Pittsburgh one of the oldest still in existence; a DVD projection! I would like to know what others think of this despicable trend that is probably here to stay (just like remake-mania, Blood Feast??? Fuck them!!!!)

Time to do something about this.
Finally: Here is a pro-erotica, non-censorship post I can refer in here without threatening AV Maniacs' own existence.
If you do not know about Violet Blue's Internet history, you have been seriously derelict.
Essentially, censorship affects any number of World-Wide Websites, including this one; because if an anti-erotica zealot (frequently described as a "white knight") complains to any clearnet W-WW host about "inappropriate content", the content, if not the entire W-WW site, will be removed.
But the content described / depicted here is not offensive to a vast majority of the viewers here, because many of them actually saw it in a movie theater so many years ago.
This also hits upon what a purveyor of content from that span will opt to release on DVD. Could any of them withstand the furor, from W-WW sites supposedly friendly to erotic content like Vice.com, complaining that the imagery depicted then is now offensive {if not "illegal"}, and allowing their release to be profitable?
This has been, and is, wrong-minded. Erotic motion pictures and videos are depictions of a fantasy. If people cannot tell the difference between a fantasy and (a) reality, they are the party that needs a correction.
It is time to mount a charge to prevent any more losses along this front.

Alternate Seattle titles for OLGA films
I've been researching old Seattle movie theater ads, and have found that the last two "official" OLGA films were given alternate titles for local theater ads.
OLGA'S HOUSE OF SHAME was called OLGA'S HOUSE OF TERROR in Seattle.
MME. OLGA'S MASSAGE PARLOR was entitled OLGA'S BACK IN TOWN, a rather wimpy title I'd say. The Seattle engagement (May of 1965) was about two months earlier than the usually-reported July opening for the film. Perhaps that engagement was an early test-run. Actually, the Olga character does not appear in MME. OLGA'S MASSAGE PARLOR, so the alternate title OLGA'S BACK IN TOWN must have been quite deceiving to grindhouse denizens of the day.
I do not consider the later OLGA'S DANCE HALL GIRLS to be an official OLGA title. It had no involvement with George Weiss, Joseph Mawra, or Audrey Campbell (or even with the actress who took over for Olga in MME. OLGA'S MASSAGE PARLOR).

RAT FINK (1965) coming to Blu-ray from Retromedia
Following on the heels of 2016's great Blu-ray/DVD release of the long thought-lost psychodrama PRIVATE PROPERTY (1960) from Cinelicious Pics, Retromedia honcho Fred Olen Ray has announced a Blu-ray of the long-missing RAT FINK (1965), from 35mm elements. This film, like PRIVATE PROPERTY, disappeared after the mid 1960's and hasn't been seen since then. It's amazing when these films suddenly surface after decades of neglect and anonymity.
RAT FINK, like the better known exploitationer THE SADIST (1962) is about a mentally disturbed young man wreaking havoc with his contemporaries. Also like THE SADIST, RAT FINK was directed by James Landis and photographed by Vilmos Zsigmond.

Tokyo Idols
A new documentary film is playing festivals titled Tokyo Idols. I haven't seen it but the subject matter is up my alley. I've seen the trailer and some interviews with the director and producer on YouTube. I wrote an opinion piece on this film based on what I saw. I am hoping a DVD gets released soon. Tokyo Idols
